Imphal, February 17: Over 800 police constables, who have already appeared for the pre-promotion selection test for promotion to the post of Havildar, have been allegedly asked to face another test to be promoted to the rank of Naik, which is lower than Havildar.

The pre-promotion selection test for promoting Havildar was held on July 29,2000 but the results were not declared by the Govt, said a disgruntled constable who joined such test.

Recently the Govt notified for conducting a test for promoting constable to Naik at 1st MR ground tomorrow.

It also asked them to join the test.

Aggrieved by the Govt's indifferent attitude the constables, who appeared such test for promotion of Havildar numbering 811 have decided to move the court for which they consulted advocate Irom Dalitkumar.
