In today's matches of the 7th OFA cup 2009, SAIPO, Heikakmapal and SSC (A), Sekta won after defeating their opponent.
The tournament which was commenced yesterday at OFA ground, Pungdong-bam with President Manipur Olympic Association, Bijoy Koijam was organised by the Oriental Football Academy (OFA) .
It may be recall that 14 diferent teams are participating the tournament viz four groups.
It has been set to conclude on February 17 next.
Today's first match was between SAIPO, Heikakmapal and SAIRC, Takyel.
The match was won by SAIPO after an easy win match against SAIRC.
Players of SAIPO played the match substantially from the very beginning of the match.
SAIRC players showed little resistance against SAIPO.
SAIPO players tried at various moments many goal attempts against SAIRC.
Th Bungo of SAIPO scored the first goal of the match in the 19th minute of the match opening the goal account of his team.
Theire were full of cheers for the players of SAIPO around the field from the fans of SAIPO.
In pursuit of the goal of Bungo, S Thomas of SAIPO scored his team's second goal against SAIRC in the 21st minute of the match leaving the players of SAIRC in complete dismay.
The third goal of SAIPO was scored by Th Bungo in the 37th minute of the match.
SAIRC players tried at their best level to equalise the score position but they found it hard to fight against SAIPO.
They almost sank their heart when the fourth goal against them was scored by S Samson in the 40th minute of the match.
However hard they tried, players of SAI RC could not scored a single goal against SAIPO in the first half.
Th Bungo scored his team's fifth goal in the 53rd minute.
As a result of its hard efforts Th Rishikanta of SAIRC, Takyel managed to score one goal against SAIPO.
No further goals were scored till the end of the match by both team and SAIPO won the match 5-1 .
The second match was played played between LSIC, Lamlai and SSC (A) Sekta.
The match was won by SSC (A), Sekta after defeating LSIC, Lamlai 3-1 .
First half of the match was rather an interesting match between the two teams.
Both team's players played thematch with equal skills and tactics.
But SSC scored its first goal in the last minute of the first half.
The goal was scored by W Ngouba.
In their hot pursuit to equalise the score position in the second half, S Herojit of LSIC scored one goal against SSC in the 58th minute.
With equal score position between the two, SSC players played the match in a new tactics and tried many goal attempts against LSIC.
As a result of their hard effort, W Ngouba again scored his and his team's second goal against SSC in the 65th minute.
The third goal of SSC was scored by Suraj in the 69th minute.
Bijen of SSC was issued a yellow card for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
