The Vaiphei Peoples' Council (VPC), Eastern Block has expressed condemnation over the 'inhuman physical assault' on T Johnson Suantak of Happy Valley, Saikul sub-division on January 29 by cadres of KNO/KLA.
In a press release, the VPC eastern block stated that the 'inhuman act' perpetrated by on an innocent individual and a particular community is a gross violation of human rights and undermining of communal harmony and peaceful co-existence of all tribes.
It also said that assaulting, kidnapping, torture, killing and extortion on 'innocent Vaiphei individuals and villagers meted out by a particular community time and again and the toleration should not be taken as a sign of weakness, while saying that it is rather a sign of maturity and civilized culture maintained by the Vaipheis.
Meanwhile, in the same vein, the Zillai (Vaiphei students' body) General Headquarters has also registered its strong condemnation on the assault on T Johnson Suantak of Happy Valley village.
