Employees of the Public Health Engineering Department has threatened to join the ongoing cease-work strike of State Government employees in case the Government does not agree to fulfil the demands of the employees at the earliest.
A press release issued by the Public Health Engineering Department Workers and Employees Organisation Manipur said that they have been staying away from the cease-work in the interest of public even as they too have their stakes in the ongoing agitation.
Saying that they could not tolerate the indifference of the Government any more, the PHED employees said that all activities of the Department would be ceased completely in case the Government fails to give a concrete assurance to fulfil the demands of the employees for implementation of the recommendations of 6th Pay Commission in toto.
They further advised the public to store water for household use in the event of suspension of water supply.
