A mega camp jointly organised by MTS, MPW and regular staff of DMO, Bishnupur district, Imphal west and Imphal east in association with organising committee of the Lainingthou Khoriphaba Thougal Lup, Nambol was held on yesterday.
The camp was organised under the physical and direct supervision of the state malaria officer, NVBDCP, Manipur with the objective of giving awareness regarding personal protection and its usefulness of ITBN against malaria and other vector borne diseases.
Another objective of the camp is to provide the usefulness of the insecticide treated bed nets as one of the control measured to protect against malaria and other vector borne diseases and to distribute ITBN (insecticide treated bed nets) to those people below the BPL (below poverty line), that is the poor and needy people, H Nimaichand, state malaria officer said in a statement.
At the concluding part of the camp, the state malaria officer handed over sufficient quantities of deltamethrine 2.5 (insecticide for impregrination of bed nets) along with IEC (Information Education and Communication) materials for prevention and control measures of malaria and other vector borne disease concerned, it further stated.
During the function SMO also conveyed massages to contact and concern to DMO and MTS, Bishnupur whenever necessary for conducting IEC and awareness programme elated and relevant with Vector Borne Diseases particularly about the malaria in general.
