Imphal, February 16, 2010:
A huge cache of arms have been seized by troops of 42 AR posted at Bongyang this afternoon from Bongyang along Imphal-Moreh road.
According to a reliable source, the arms were being transported in a Maruti van and a car (Hyundai Getz).
The seized arms included seven AK-56 rifles, two M-16 rifles, one pistol, 408 live rounds of AK ammunition, three spare barrels of M-16, two silencer attachments and one night vision binocular, said an AR source.
Though it cannot be verified to which group the seized arms belong, it is suspected that the arms might belong to the Pakan Revolutionary Army, a Kuki armed group.
