The Election Commission of India (ECI) has ordered the electoral authority of Manipur to start the pre-revision activities of the forthcoming assembly election, 2012, informed PC Lawmkunga, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in Imphal today.
Such orders were being given in order to update the electoral data base and create a central data base which is to be maintained by ECI, informed PC Lawmkunga.
The pre-revision activities of the assembly election, 2012 would include door to door survey for detection of errors in current photo electoral rolls, age, sex, according to P.C Lawmkunga.
The election survey which is scheduled to commence from March 2 and conclude on March 20 would be conducted by Booth Level Officer (BLO) and Booth Level Agent (BLA).
The BLA and BLO would be appointed by the state government from the 9 political parties, stated PC Lawmkunga.
Out of 17,27,241 total registered voters in the state, 13,36,689 voters have been issued a new voters Identity Cards.
All the voters of the state have been issued Election Photo I card (EPIC), Unicode complaint, informed PC Lawmkunga.
