Imphal, June 23:
Asserting that the demands and agitation of the GNM students of the School of Nursing and Midwifery under the State Medical Directorate are reasonable and justified, the All Colleges Tribal Students Organisation Manipur (ACTSOM) has appealed to the authority concerned to solve the issue amicably so that normal classes can be resumed immediately.
A statement issued by ACTSOM pointed that some of the fees collected by the authority of the School of GNM are in contravention of the guidelines issued by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
Demanding that the extra fees collected by the Principal illegally should be refunded to the students immediately, ACTSOM further asked the authority concerned to cancel other unreasonable fees like community practice lab fee, emergency health care fund, games and library fees, nursing arts lab fee, marksheet fee, council exam fee, student enrolment fee, maintenance fee and cultural fee.
It further demanded the authority concerned to take due cognizance of the matter and to solve the issue at the earliest in the interest of the GNM students.
