Wokha, June 23:
In a landmark fashion here on Saturday, the twin Gates---Gate No I (towards Longsa Village) and Gate No II at Zero Point (towards Wokha Village)---welcoming to Wokha Town, have been formally inaugurated and dedicated to the people of Wokha by State Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr TM Lotha.

The inauguration of these two Gates here, one after another, by the Minister, was significant, as the twin villages---Wokha Village and Longsa Village---had jointly organized the occasion, a symbol of oneness.
Rajya Sabha Member, TR Zeliang, had provided fund for these two Gates under his Local Area Development Fund.
Expressing his happiness at inaugurating the twin gates on the same day, Dr Lotha reminded the publics about the unprecedented developmental pace that had taking place under the DAN Government in the State.
While a large number of proposals for the State and Centrally sponsored schemes were in progress and all these would be implemented soon, he stated.
The Minister also said the State had recently brought in Global Open University at Wokha, while Wokha-Merapani Road construction was in progress.
Besides there had been proposals for foothill road constructions, from Niuland to Merapani, Merapani to Champang, Champang to Tuli and Tuli to Tizit, he stated.
He informed the publics that the Government of India this time had selected Wokha and Tuensang districts as Backward Region to be developed under Backward Region Special Development Package.
�Very soon, we will implement all these proposals,� he said, appealing the general publics to extend their fullest cooperation to the present DAN Government to comeback to power again, so as to bring more developments in the State.
Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Mikha Lomi, district officials, Wokha Town Council Chairman and his Members, Chairmen and Village Council Members of both Wokha Village and Longsa Village and other well-wishers attended the occasions.
