Imphal, February 21, 2010:
In commemoration with the 175th of Assam Rifles, 27 Sector AR Commandant Brig Surendra Mehta flagged off a nine-day educational tour for the children of Churachandpur district today.
The children would be brought to Guwahati and Shillong to give an insight into different cultures and traditions during the tour organised by 46 AR, said a press release of PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
It further said that 30 school children in the age-group of 13 to 15 years including 11 girls of HM English School, Churachandpur are taking part in the tour.
Apart from visiting various places of attraction, the children would also interact with the Governor Assam during their stay in Guwahati.
