All the five PREPAK cadres killed in a reported encounter with troops of 12 Assam Rifles at Taretlok in Ukhrul district in the night of February 13 have been identified.
After three were identified yesterday, the remaining two were identified today.
They were Wareppam Subata alias Nanao (19) s/o Ibotombi of Lamboi Khongnangkhong and Wangkhem Sunil alias Lenin (35) s/o late Bipin of Waithou.
Nanao left home about five months back.
He was a cadre of PREPAK.
Sunil left home in October 2008.Before leaving home, Sunil stayed with his maternal grand-mother at Chajing.
Both the corpses have been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS today.
The three others already identified are Wahengbam Sarat (23) of Wangoi Wahengbam Leikai, Elangbam Kishan of Kakching Irum Mapal and Thokchom Sanjoy (26) of Kongba Makha Nandeibam Leikai Chongabi.
However, Sanjoy's body has not been claimed till date.
He was identified from the driving licence recovered from him.
Family members have not identified the corpse to the police.
As such, necessary procedure would be initiated to dispose off the corpse in accordance to law, said a police source.
Notably, Assam Rifles claimed that two AK rifles, three pistols and two Chinese hand grenades were recovered from the five slain cadres.
