Reacting to a news report regarding unavailability of eligible State natives for the post of Assembly Joint Secretary, an official source informed that there are officials in the Parliament, who are fit for the post.
Among 60 Parliament staff from the State, there are employees who have more than three years of working experience as Joint Director in the Simultaneous Interpretation Service of the Indian Parliament, it said.
Informing that Grade and pay scale of Joint Director of Parliament and Joint Secretary of State Legislative Assembly are equivalent, the source said three years working experience as Joint Director in Parliament is included in the eligibility criteria of the Assembly Joint Secretary.
Given the said criteria, the news story published in this daily regarding unavailability of eligible State official was wrong, it clarified.
Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency MP Dr T Meinya while talking to The Sangai Express also informed that there are eligible persons hailing from the State who are fit for the post of Assembly Joint Secretary, in the Parliament.
