With an eye on helping the students to explore their hidden talents, the annual cultural and literary meet of Ching-Tam High School, Yaingangpokpi was held at its premises today.
Headmaster of the school S Itocha Singh, senior most teacher of the school L Saratchandra Singh and chairman of School Management and Development Committee N Sanatomba attended the event as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Dignitaries who spoke at the occasion stressed on the need for promotion of extra-curriculum activities among the students and observed that imparting text book knowledge is not just enough in this 21st century.
Competition on recitation, story reading, extempore speech and dance among the students were the main highlight of event.
Prizes were also distributed among the winners of these competitions.
NE job portal launched: For the first time in North East India, www.nejob.in, an exclusive job portal for North East India designed and developed by Capital Information Technology Park and its software consultancy division HILLET has been formally launched during a function at Manipur Press Club here today.
Education Minister L Jayantakumar Singh; director of JAIMS Connection Trust, Sangaiprou R Shangha and Head of Computer Science Department, Manipur University Prof O Ibocha attended the function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking at the occasion, Minister Jayantakumar observed that everyone is aware of the changes brought about by Information Technology (IT) in the society today.
So, along with development in human resources, there is the need to pay special attention on development of IT sector.
