Imphal, October 07 2010:
The Komlakhong route option did not register in their mind, when the experts from the Delhi firm and LDA ventured into Keibul Lampak National Park, which is home to the rare Sangai, and started clearing the Phumdis from the park thereby posing a threat to the rare animal, but after The Sangai Express published a detailed report of the looming threat, it has been decided that Phumdis from Loktak will be drained into the Manipur river without disturbing Keibul Lamjao National Park through Komlakhong drainage system.
The Komlakhong route option could not have come at a better time than now, as the world is observing the Wildlife Week.
