A devastating fire that broke out Hatta Hafiz yesterday at about 12.30 am completely destroyed one motor garage, one PCO and one furniture store.
The loss incurred in the fire is estimated to run into several lakhs of rupees.
Fire Service personnel said that the cause of the fire is yet to be established.
Meanwhile in a statement issued to the press today, the All Manipur Muslim Organisations Co-ordinating Committee said that the fire destroyed Millennium Auto Mobile Workshop, Nargis Decora, and one Advocates Chamber.
The Kangleipak Muslim Chanura Development Organisation shares its office with the workshop.
Expressing deep anguish over the loss caused by the devastating fire, the Committee identified the owner of the work shop as one Md Anwar Hussain, who is also the chief advisor of Kangleipak Muslim Chanura Development Organisation.
The statement said that the owner of the work shop suffered immense losses including a Gypsy, Maruti car, Ambassador cars, Jeeps, Tanker, Passenger Jeeps, work material including machinery etc.
The estimated loss is about Rs 12 lakhs, said the Committee.
A number of organisations have expressed anguish over the fire, said the statement and added that a meeting was held today wherein it was decided to extend all help to the unfortunate workshop owner.
Appealing to all to extend their help and co-operation, AMMOCOC said that it would help the Advocates Chamber, Nargis Decora (furniture shop) and the workshop to resettle.
A Relief Committee has been set up and donors may contribute their mite at the Public Hospital, Hatta and at the office of the JAC at Golapati, said the statement.
