Out of the four aspiring candidates who have taken the nomination papers to contest in the presidential election of MPP for the post of its12th president, three of them have filed their nominations till today.
The election is slated to be held on December 11 and efforts to arrive at a consensus candidate for the post of the party president are yet to bear fruits.
Four aspiring candidates had taken the nomination papers to contest the election till yesterday.
They are member of the Working Committee as well as of the Central Committee AK Sanaton, general secretary (administration) Kshetrimayum Brajamani, Working Committee member K Rojen and joint secretary (organisation) L Borajao.
With exception of K Rojen, the rest filed their nomination papers today.
The last date of filing the nomination paper is December 2 and the scrutiny would be held on December 3.The incumbent party president and MLA O Joy has not yet taken the nomination paper and it is still not yet clear whether he would be contesting the election or not.
According to information received by the press, although efforts are being made by the party leaders and office bearers to zero in on a consensus candidate for the post of the president, it is still not clear as to who should be the consensus candidate.
