Imphal, March 22 2010: President of the Manipur People Party (MPP) today reiterated the demand ouster of Chief Minister, O Ibobi for still retaining two ministers, Works Minister, K Ranjit and Tribal Development Minister DD Thaisii involved in shooting to injure of Advocate General N Koteshar, in his ministry while meeting with the state Governor, Gurbachan Jagat.

MPP reiterated their demands which included in the memorandum submitted to the Governor two days back when a team of MPP led by its president, Dr Nimaichand Luwang today called on with the Governor at Raj Bhavan.

The team, met with the Governor at 11.30 am today, reminded the memorandum submitted by the party on March 20 last and pressed him for translation into works the demands put down by the party in the memorandum, Nimaichand told reporters after the meeting.

The Governor while expressing shock on the incident, assured initiation of action at his best level, the president claimed.

Citing that MPP delay in putting up the matter to the Governor level owing to his absent for sometime as he was out of station for his private business, he added.

The instance of minister involving in the shooting was never occurred before in the history of state.

MPP took the matter seriously and condemned it.

In order to check repetition of such shock incident, MPP is demanding appropriate action, he observed.

The two ministers should have resigned on moral ground.

As they failed to tender resignation, they should be ousted by Chief Minister O Ibobi and showed the people that every guilty man should get punishment accordingly.

When Chief Minister failed to initiate action against the two ministers showed that he is indirectly involved in the case.

There is no reason that he should be charged of his unconstitutional act.

Even though, police registered an FIR case with regard to the incident, they could not investigate into the case owing to the two ministers still in power, he observed reiterating the demand for ouster of the two ministers involved for police to able to investigate into the case.

Chief Minister, O Ibobi blocked the police investigation by keeping the ministers still in power.

This showed that Chief Minister blocked in delivering justice to the incident, Nimaichand alleged.

At the same time, he also appealed the government to bring an end to the existing deadlock between the government and striking employees considering the woes suffering by the people as a result of the strike.

With regard to the question of losing state land at Moreh in taking border fencing work, Nimaichand said, the party came to know the matter from the media report.

A team of MPP will conduct a spot visit at the earliest to find out the truth behind it and do the needful.
