Imphal, March 22 2010:
Taking strong exception to the killing of a local man who was truck driver, local people of Andro held a meeting with the local MLA today.
Truck driver Chingakham Jugeshwar alias Inao (28) s/o Kula of Andro Khuman Tampak was found hacked to death at Andro Khuman Sarang Thakpham in the morning of March 1 .
Jugeshwar went out from home in the evening of February 28 .
After constituting a JAC against the killing, people of Andro have been urging the Government authorities to book the culprits.
The JAC organised another public meeting this morning and studied the murder as well as the response of the State Government.

The meeting was jointly presided by local MLA Thounaojam Shyamkumar and chief (Khullakpa) of Andro village Gandhar Singh.
Shyamkumar said that, together with the JAC and the people of Andro, he would extend all possible cooperation in pulling up all those involved in the killing.
However, all the movements aimed at bringing justice should be acceptable to law, he asserted.
According to the JAC secretary Tikendrajit this was not the first case of murder in Andro.
A young girl was found murdered at Andro Awang Leikai a few years back but the authorities could not find any clue about the killers, he decried.
Out of 13 people pulled up by police in connection with the killing of Jugeshwar, three are still in police custody.
However, police have not yet disclosed whether the three individuals are involved in the killing or not, Tikendrajit said.
According to Ibemcha, wife of the deceased, one of the three apprehended individuals is a mute.
Earlier, this individual not only asked Jugeshwar but also showed his finger.
Jugeshwar and the mute man sat together in the previous night of the murder, Ibemcha said.
Jugeshwar is survived by his wife and two daughters.
