A post card campaign 'Repeal Armed Forces Special Power Act, 1958 (AFSPA) from the entire North East Region, We are against the AFSPA and We are with the North East people' addressed to the President of India, New Delhi organized by All India Youth Federation (AIYF) was launched in Imphal on Monday by Manipur State Council (MSC).

Purnimashi Devi president, Manipur State Council/All India Youth Federation (MPC/AIYF) informed that nearly 1, 25,000 the post cards have been dispatched to 25 states (500 each) of the country.
The post card would be reportedly dispatched to the President of India after signing by the recipient of the post card.
She informed that a 2nd North East Regional convention cum seminar was held at Guwahati on March 9 jointly organized by Manipur State Council (MSC) and Assam State Council, AIYF.
Out of the total 200 delegate members of the North East region who participated in the convention, 50 were from Manipur including Sh.

The delegate members reportedly highlighted the constraints of growth and development faced by the youths of the North East region in the 2nd North East Regional convention cum seminar.
Recounting the event, she also stated that a co-ordination committee of AIYF, North East comprising of 11 members, 4 members from Manipur, 3 members each from Assam , Tripura and 1 member from Meghalaya was formed during the conference.
The committee had discussed the prevailing growth and development scenario of the entire North East region and stated that the significant reason of the region to stay aloof from the mainland India was the lack of growth and development in the region, informed Sh.

The committee also stated that the AIYF has been demanding to repeal AFSPA from the North East since 30 years and no any good results have yielded.
Instead, Public are suffering more due to this draconian Act.
Rape cases, fake encounters are being faced by the public due to this act, stated Sh.
