Imphal, November 30 2009: All India Trade Union Congress, Manipur branch today distributed rabi crops seeds to the farmer of Imphal east district at function held at Ramsingh Bhavan, Khurai Lamlong Bazar to mark the "Ching-tam Ningsing Mipham".

The main event of the function was marked by the distribution of rabi crop seeds to the farmers by the general secretary of the AITUC, Manipur branch.the distributed crop seeds include three different variety of pea, koli hawai, potato, cabbage seed, ladyfinger seed, khongdrum, mairen and cucumber etc.

mosquito-nets were also distributed.

Only 200 mosquito nets were distributed on the occasion but AITUC general secretary, L Sotinkumar speaking on the occasion said that the body is targeting to distribute 700 mosquito nets to the farmers of the area.

The function was graced by secretariat member of the CPI, state council, Athokpam Lala as chief guest and presided over by state executive member Th Manglem.

Speaking on the occasion, A Lala expressed that the function was organized to ensure farmer of the Khurai side to ensure receive of rabi crop seeds and appealed the recipient farmers to grow the seed well in their fields and become a progressive farmer.
