Private vehicle owners today expressed strong resentment over the traffic police collecting fines from vehicles with no insurance even though insurance companies rejected joining insurance policies.
Owners expressed resentment to the traffic police's joint drive with transport department to check vehicles with no mandatory documents, paying no tax, overloading loading, permit, and fitness certificates etc.
by opening mobile court.
They also forced to pay fine for those vehicles with no insurance policy.
The drive has been conducting in the last few days.
Regarding the forced collection of fine for not having insurance policy, Th Subashchandra, a vehicle owner said when they went to the insurance company for applying for insurance policy, company officials turned down while the mobile court forced them to pay fine for not having insurance policy.
He also expressed his willingness to present staffs of the insurance company in the mobile court in order to relief the vehicles owners from the grievances facing by them.
Other vehicle owners also put down the similar opinion.
Today, the mobile court to check default vehicle owners presided by JMIC (transport) A Noutuneshwori taken up 133 cases.
Out of this total, 10 were disposed while 24 are pending.
The court also collected Rs 15,000 as fine from the vehicles owners.
