The red Shield Division (57 Mtn Divn) is going to organise one day seminar on "Conflict Resolution in Manipur" on March 15 at 9.15 am at the Red Shield Auditorium at Leimakhong.
GOC 57 Mtn Divn, Maj Gen DS Hooda will deliver the opening address and Justice WA Shishak will deliver the keynote address.
The seminar will have three sessions with three themes "Understanding Ethnicity and Alienation," "Role of Various Institutions in the Peace Process" and " "An Approach to Conflict Resolution" respectively.
Prof Gangmumei Kamei will chair the first session in which Prof TT Haokip will speak on "The Ethnic Diversity of Manipur," Dr Vijayalakshmi Barara will speak on "Manipur as a Multi Ethnic Political Unit," Mani Charenamei will speak on "Changing Socio-Political Dynamics in Hill Areas of Manipur" and N Ibungochoubi will speak on "Alienation of Manipur:Causes and Amelioration".
L Sadananda will chair the second session in which Pradip Phanjoubam will speak on "Media in Internal Conflict Situations," Comdt (Retd) RS Jassal will speak on "Role of Security Forces," Dr YL Mingthing will speak on "Role of Civil Society Organisations" and Dr John H Pulamte will speak on "The Role of Tribal Bodies and Youth in Meeting Local Aspirations".
Prof Amar Yumnam will chair the third session during which Dr M Nara will speak on "Empowering the People," Seilan Haokip will speak on "Narrowing the Ethnic Divide," Nidhi Kesarwani, IAS will speak on "Inclusive Development" and Col (Retd) Haobam Bhubon will speak on "The Hearts and Mind Approach to Security".
GOC 3 Corps, Lt Gen NK Singh will give the closing address.
