Imphal, December 28 2008:
A GENERAL body meeting of the All Manipur Veterinary and Animal Husbandry and Dairying Employees' Union (AMVAHDEU) held yesterday decided to join the cease work strike of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO demanding implementation of sixth Central Pay Commission's recommendation and other demands of the employees of the state government.
The veterinary doctors, Para veterinary staff members of the veterinary and animal husbandry services, Manipur will physically support the strike effectively from January 3 next.
A press release of AMVAHDEU said that the strike would affect the services of the state veterinary hospital, Sanjenthong, District veterinary hospitals, ICDP centers and other veterinary institutions.
It further mentioned that the employees of livestock farms and poultry farms will join the strike from January 13 and employees of dairy plants will join from January 21 next.
Inclusion of veterinary drivers is said to be subjected to the decision of All Manipur Drivers' and Technicians' Association.
Meanwhile, the Joint Committee of Medical Department Employees Association, Family Welfare Department Employees Association and Manipur Health Services Officers Association have temporarily opened OPD due to some inconvenience and necessity.
The JAC of AMGEO and AMTUC warned the government to take up various kinds of agitation if an agreement is not arrived between the JAC and the government soon.
