THE STATE government has sought funds from the Centre to construct a flyover at Keishampat.
This was revealed by Works Minister, K Ranjit to mediapersons today.
On a visit to inspect the works for construction of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) at Porompat, Minister Ranjit told the mediapersons that the MAHUD Department of the Government of Manipur has sent detailed project report (DPR) to the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India and has also urged the Ministry to sanction the required fund.
Considering this, in expanding the Tiddim road from Keishampat to Churachandpur, for Keishampat area, land would be acquired to make it 125 feet, Ranjit said.
In this area where the pillars of the flyover would be constructed, the road on both sides from the median, would have to be 50 feet each, he said.
Regarding JNIMS, the Minister said, a team of Medical Council of India would be visiting Imphal in February next to over-see the preparations for upgrading the JN Hospital to a medical college.
During the team's stay at Imphal, it would be known with certainty whether upgrading the hospital to a medical college has ben approved or not.
Therefore, construction of the infrastructure has been going on throughout 24 hours.
The constructions would be completed within February next, Ranjit said.
He also said, it is estimated that over Rs 200 crore would be required in the whole construction.
