The cooking gas shortest problem in the state facing since the suspension of service of the LPG bullet tankers is likely to over as a state security force team is ready to leave for escorting the vehicles arriving at Khuzuma, the last gate to Manipur from Nagaland as service of the LPG truckers is to resume from tomorrow after suspending for 20 day.
Meanwhile, with the re-imposition of "total cut-off" stir of the Naga People Organization (NPO), around 100 Imphal bound trucks ferrying essential commodities have been reportedly stranded at Khuzuma gate of Nagaland today.
A convoy of the 1st MR with 65 personnel strength led by an assistant commandant is getting ready to leave Imphal for escorting back the LPG laden trucks from Khuzuma.
The MR team which three jemandars will assist the assistant commandant is leaving from 2nd MR complex tomorrow morning.
All arrangement has been completed, source said.
Mention may be made that following the threats from the NSCN (IM) for payment of "godown tax" which they demanded from the Sekmai Bottling Plant and subsequent detention of driver of a bullet tanker on December 10 last, the services of the bullet tankers remained suspended till today.
Some media reported today that the underground NSCN(IM) maintaining cease-fire with the security forces had withdrawn its godown tax demand from the bottling plant amounting to Rs.13 lakhs with the intervention by the monitoring cell of the peace talk.
On the other hand even though, the LPG tankers are to resume their services from tomorrow, with the end of the three day relaxation period, NPO's re-imposes its "total cut-off" stir which apparently targeted to the NH-39 from mid-night last night.
Due to the commencement of the stir, around 100 trucks stranded at Khuzuma before entering to Mao gate from Nagaland, a report reaching here said.
