JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO launched the agitation from November 27 demanding the implementation of the 6th Central Pay Commission's recommendation and other demands for the employees working in the state, in support of which the state family welfare department closed down the OPD of JN hospital since Saturday.
Meanwhile, the veterinary and animal husbandry and dairying employees also on Sunday informed to physically support the ongoing agitation of cease work strike.
In a statement issued by Th Chandragopal, General Secretary of the all Manipur veterinary and animal husbandry and dairying employees' union, the decision to join the ongoing strike was taken during a general body meeting of the union on December 27 during which the veterinary doctors, para-veterinary staff members of the veterinary and animal husbandry, with effect from January 3,2009 .
The strike will affect the services of the state veterinary hospital at Sanjenthong district veterinary hospitals, ICPD centres and other veterinary institutions, according to the statement.
The statement further informed that the livestock farms and poultry farms' employees body will also be joining the strike with affect from January 13 and diary plants with affect from January 21 and urged the government to negotiate the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO at the earliest.
