Imphal, July 05 2009:
The JAC of the All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and the All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) today threatened to resume strike against demanding implementation of the 6th pay commission to all the workers, employees and pensionersafter the end of the current assembly session.
In a statement issued by the Secretary Publicity and Information of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO stated that the strike was relaxed keeping in view of the election code of conduct earlier.
The strike will resume soon after the assembly session further if the 60 MLAs sitting in the current session fails to discuss and implement of the 6th pay commission.
Employees of all departments have also been asked to get ready for complete pen down strike said the statement.
The JAC also appealed to all sections of the society including organizations, societies and the general public to bear with inconveniences to be created during the strike.
