Heirok students threaten stir

Imphal, October 11 2012:
The students of Heirok Higher Secondary School have threatened to close down the school and call a bandh in the state if the school general election is not re-conducted on or before 14 of this month.
This resolution was taken in a joint meeting of the students who are the supporters of the two other general secretary candidates at Heirok today.
According to the students, no one should be allowed to cast their votes if they do not possess identity card or admit card but on the day of the election, the school principal authorized many unknown students to cast their vote in favor of N Ibochouba.
Moreover, without any agent of the candidates concerned, the school authority counted the votes and declared Ibochouba as the elected general secretary.
In the today meeting, the students took a resolution that they will boycott the classes and if needed be, locked down the school with the help of other student bodies of the state.
The meeting also decided to call a state wide-bandh.
