Imphal, October 11 2012:
Today the Ret.
Director of Intelligence bureau, P C Haldar and State Intelligence bureau's ADGP Khogen Sarma had a meeting with NDFB (R)'s Chairman Ranjan Daimary for 1 hour about the peace process.
After the meeting, Khogen Sarma told the Journalists that NDBF(R) peace pact will be achieved by end of the year.
He also said, the peace talks have been going smoothly with Ranjan Daimary from the last 2 years.
Mediator P C Haldar said, first talks will be held with Ranjan Daimary, and then talks about peace pact will be brought to the table.
The fear of Armed forces has forced the other members of the militant group to flee away from Assam, taking shelter in the thick forests.
On this note, NDFB(R)'s Publicity Secy.
Has demanded the central and state government to release Ranjan Daimary from central jail first, only then they'll have no problem retuning back to the peace talks.
But the government is yet to provide any answer to their demand.
The government wants a similar pact for NDFB(R) and NDFB (P) as they had between DHD (N) and DHD (J).
On one hand the NDFB(R) want to sit for the peace process but on the other hand their organization's member Chandan Basumatary has been arrested by the
police for extorting Rs 10,000 from a person.
Police recovered a 9mm pistol, 10 rounds of ammunition.
It is worth mentioning that at the year 2010 Bangladesh government arrested Ranjan Daimary and handed the over to the Indian security forces.
Also Ranjan Daimary was involved in the 2008 serial bomb blast in Guwahati, for which the case is still going on in the court.
