NSCN-IM hosts Church leaders' meet

The Town Churches Union, Tamenglong Tuesday organised a day-long Church leaders' meet at UBC (Liangmei), Tamenglong HQs.
Sponsored by Zeilad Zeliangrong Region (NSCN-IM), the Church leaders' meet was held under the theme of 'Christ, the Strength of Nations' .
As many as 270 Pastors, Fathers, Catechist and religious leaders from different churches participated in the rare programme.
In his introductory speech, Leacy Tianthuilung Kahmei, Pastor of Zeilad Zeliangrong Region (NSCN-IM) explained that the programme was organised not for any organisation or individual interest, but in due consideration of the prevailing situation in Zeliangrong land and its people who would get extinct in the near future if no precautionary measures were not taken up at the earliest possible.

He also expressed his sincere gratitude to Town Churches Union Tamenglong, Central Administrative Officer (CAO), Zeilad Zeliangrong Region, Regional Secretary, Leacys and staffs for their tireless cooperation both physically and mentally.
Taking advantage of the programme, Leacy Tianthuilung Kahmei confessed the shortcoming of the NSCN and asked all the pastors and church leaders to forgive their wrong doing.
Graceson Kahmei, Executive Secretary of SDA Manipur, spoke on the topic of 'Christ, the Strength of Nations'; Rev.Dr.Jonathan, Imphal spoke on 'Political Issue'; Rev.Fr.Philip, Assistant Parish Priest Tamenglong on 'The role of the Christian leader in building a nation'' and Ms Aram Pamei, President of Naga Women Union Manipur on 'Religion and Nationalism in Human Rights Perspective' .
Central Administrative Officer (CAO), Zeilad Zeliangrong Region, Sangailung Pamei who attended the programme, opined that everything can be achieved only through God.
He also sincerely thanks all the pastors and church leaders for their cooperation.
Rev.Namreikeu Pame, President of Town Church Union, Tamenglong delivered the vote of thanks of the programme.
During the interaction session that followed, participants appealed to the National workers to look after the defunct Government department and also to check developmental works taken up in the district.
