Aizawl, October 29 2013:
Hmar People Convention (Dmocratic) has denied its nexus with Jacob Joute(34) alias Sangzuol S/o Lala Joute, Mamit, Mizoram and Lalhlawhtlinga (39) s/o L Nghinglova, Khawlian, Mizoram claiming that the two culprits who had been arrested by Mizoram Police on October 26 while extorting money allegedly in the name of HPC (D) do not belong to its group.
Jacob Joute, who is the acolyte of the already expelled president Lalhmingthang Sanate, is the mastermind in carrying out extortion at several places who is also once arrested by Indian Army at Khawmawi (Churachandpur ) for extortion case.
He was released on bail in October this year after which Lalhmingthang Sanate (a self claimed HPC(D) president), called him to Mizoram to work with the Congress party in connection with the upcoming assembly election, mentions the HPC-D statement.
The Hmar outfit in its statement further stated that Lalhlawhtlinga, the immediate brother of self-styled HPC president Lalrosiem, has never been involved with HPC(D) before.
"He is a villain and characterless person who had been dismissed from the reverend post of pastor.
He is the follower of Lalhmingthang Sanate with whom the Congress party tried to work secretly in the upcoming election.
Had the leaders of Mizoram govt.knew their arrest before, they would have been released without the knowledge of public.
However, since the Mizoram polices accidentally arrested them without the knowledge of their link with the ruling congress government, and as the arrest was known publicly, so it has to be flashed falsely in the local newspapers allegedly as the cadre of HPC(D)", the statement also said.
The HPC (D)'s press statement demands the punishment of the 'two villains' and also announced before the public its astonishment for not arresting Lalhminthang Sanate by the state government despite he being a cadre of an underground outfit.
