DESAM today banned two teachers from further engaging in the teaching profession for allegedly trying to lead seven students including five girls lodging in the hostel in the wrong way by giving wine.
The teachers were vice principal of the Budhachandra Academy, Kongba Laishram Laishram Leikai, Meishnam Binoy and Thokchom Romesh of the same school runnig with boarding facility, according to the DESAM.
Speaking at a press conference at its office today, education secretary Arambam Thoithoi alleged that the two teachers of indulging in drinking wine to the students lodging at the hostel of the school.
He announced that DESAM has decided to impose restriction to the two teachers for engaging in teaching profession for two years asking the authorities who are running the school to meet with the officials of the students body.
Schools running with hostel should keep separate places for boys and girls with wardens and security not to happen any untoward incident and if any school violating the norms will be dealt severely, the spokesperson added.
