While urging all political leaders of the state to resist from giving communal tinge which can tear the communities asunder while carrying out election campaign for the coming Lok Sabha election, the Information Centre for Hill Areas, Manipur (ICHAM) has urged all concerns to ponder on the candidate who have the strength and courage to tap the potential resources of the state.
Saying that it is now the right time for the people to come together, the ICHAM press statement signed by its publicity secretary, Ambition suggests various agendas the land needs.
It said that setting up of Paper Mill in the state with the huge resource of bamboo is considered necessary.
The ICHAM statement said that farming of medicinal plants found in the state would minimise the problem ofunemployment in the state.
It also said that the huge resource of chromites/limes in Ukhrul district will boost the economy if industries such as cement, steel and lime are set up.
Contending that the 50 percent of the power produced by the Loktak Hydro Electric Project should be used by the state, the statement also calls for weighing the power the state gets and the land lost in setting up the project.
The ICHAM statement also said that if adequate Food Processing Machines/Cold Storages are installed at the rightful places to tap the produces of various fruits and vegetables of the state, it will automatically headed towards peace.
It also suggested that setting up of proper irrigation system and canals will enhance more products to the terrace fields of the land while adding that this will also be a step toward prosperous economy of the state.
Calling for the tapping of various resources of the state, the ICHAM statement also urged all concerns to think over the suitable candidate who have the strength and courage to materialise the wants of the state.
