The NSS Unit of Lamlong Hr Sec School, Khurai contributed a sum of Rs 1000 collected from students and teachers as well as from volunteers as donation to Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for victims of tsunami.
The amount has been handed over to Advisor, NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through NSS Regional Centre, Guwahati, informed State Liaison Officer, NSS, Manipur Dr B Lakari Singh in a statement today.
Similarly, the NSS Unit of Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang also contributed a sum of Rs 1000 to the Relief Fund for the same cause.
On the other hand, employees of District Fishery Office, Thoubal also donated an amount of Rs 22,050 to the Relief Fund.
The employees of Manipur Fire Service have also donated one-day's salary amounting to Rs 31,126 to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund for the victims of the killer tidal waves.
