Normal life in the state was partially disturbed today due to the dawn-to-dusk strike called by the Left parties across the country on price hike issue.
Even though normal traffics and movements of people were not disturbed, important market places remained close for the day as vendors, saloons and other works of life cease all works of the day showing solidarity to the cease work called by the Left Co-ordination Committee, Manipur branch.
Important market places in Imphal cities wore desert as vendors particularly women vegetable, cloth vendors were out of the market and all saloon centre in the main market places in both Imphal east and west district remained closed for the day.
Left Co-ordination Committee in advance announced that parties in the Left Front in Manipur will also observed a cease-work on April 27 in showing solidarity to the nationwide generation strike called by 13 left parties.
The strike called by the left parties in the state as part of the protest demonstration against the price hike got full supports from various sections of the society.
As solidarity to the protest demonstration members of the trade union, students, womenfolk and farmers including those daily breath earners suspended all day works on the day commencing from 6 am till 4 pm.
