Imphal, March 27 2011:
National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) has condemned the killing of Irom Roger (21) of Wangkhei Angom Leikai.
In a press release, NIPCO demanded for befitting punishment to the involved persons in the incident.
Maintaining that it was not the first instance of involving kins of higher echelons of the State Government in such incidents, the committee observed that the SPF Government is no more a government which aspires for the welfare of the general public.
NIPCO contended that providing arms license and security escorts not only to MLAs and Ministers but also to their kins and relatives escalate crime in the State.
Remembering the shooting incident in which Advocate General Koteshwar was critically injured, NIPCO added that the culprit was not booked in the incident as well although the Chief Minister promised to punish the involved person.
It added that people are waiting for awarding punishment to the culprits this time.
