Imphal, March 27 2011:
The conflict of right and duty between a war mongering General and his lowborn wife flows through Actors' Repertory Theatre's Mangal Yaobrada Numit (The Sun Without Light).
The play that depicts the life of Karna, the uncelebrated son of Kunti in the epic Mahabharata, was presented at Rupmahal theatre on March 24 last.
Designed and conceptualised by theatre director K Kyamba, the play brought to life the fatal destiny of Karna, the maiden son of Kunti.
As Karna has sacrificed his thumb to his mother Kunti during the last phase of the battle of Kurukshetra, his wife Padmavati unwillingly bade farewell to her husband Karna.
The play is written by Kshetri Sanajaoba.
