Denouncing the alleged attempt of the Government to acquire a large tract of land for expansion of Imphal airport against the collective wish of the people and the failure of the Government to materialise the points of agreement with the JAC Against the Acquisition of Land for Expansion and Extension of the Imphal Airport, the JAC has decided to boycott all Government offices located in Naoriya Assembly Constituency with effect from January 19 .
A press release issued by the JAC informed that there is no change in its stand to impose indefinite total bandh along Tidim Road from January 19 .
It further appealed to all Government employees working in offices located within Naoriya A/C not open and attend their offices until the JAC lifts the boycott and comes to a permanent agreement with the Government.
Saying that restriction on electioneering activities of Congress party for Lok Sabha election in Naoriya A/C will be tightened, the JAC asked all Congress workers of the assembly section not to undertake any election campaign for Congress and also to stay away from all programmes attended by SPF Government Ministers including the Chief Minister.
