TKS appeals for release

The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has appealed the concerned authority for the safe release of Ringphamei who was arrested on ground of suspicion by troops of TA from a residential house at Phungreitang West, Ukhrul.
In a statement, the TKS President, Yangmi Khapai informed that three persons including two minors� Z Ringphamei (23), son of Z Yaruingam of Chahong Khullen village under Kamjong Sub-Dvision of Ukhrul, his younger brother Z Latmi (17) and Tamreichan Shipo (17), son of Jonah Shipo of Koso village under Phungyar Sub-Division, Ukhrul were arrested on false charges and merely on a ground of suspicion by a troop of Territorial Army from a residential house at Phungreitang West, Ukhrul town on April 12 .
The two minors namely Z Latmi and Tamreichan Shipo were released yesterday.
However, Ringphamei was taken to Imphal and still detained in police custody.
He was detained on false charges and merely on basis of suspicion that he was present in his brother's house at the time of the raid.
The student's body has investigated the credentials of this person and found that he is an innocent person.
He works as a mechanic in an electronic shop in Ukhrul town, the TKS statement asserted.
On the night of April 12, a troop of Territorial Army raided a house in Phungreitang West and seized a country made pistol.
The house belonged to Ringphamei's elder brother.
It was learnt that the illegal arms belongs to one Ngashanpam Haorei of Khamasom Khayangkho village, who reportedly had a deal with some miscreants.
He made his escape good when the arm personnel swung into action, it further stated.
