With the stated objective of helping and promoting Manipuri students and educated youths who desire for studies and placement in foreign countries, a new guidance centre christened as Dr Suresh Centre for Foreign Studies and Placement has been opened.
Announcing this during a press conference at Manipur Press Club here today, retired Director of Health Services Dr Th Suresh, who is also a member in the Board of Directors of the newly opened Centre, pointed out that many students who are desirous of further studies in foreign institutions have not been able to realise their dreams as they do not know where to contact and what are the guidelines of the institutions they wished to get admitted.
It is to help not only such students but also to provide information on job placements that the centre has been set up, he said, adding that the registered address of the Centre shall be Keishamthong Laisom Leirak and the area of operation would be whole of Manipur state.
Dr Suresh further informed that three professors of Manipur University namely Prof N Rajmuhon Singh of Chemistry Department, Associate Prof P Kumar Singh of Life Science and Prof Ch Yashawanta Singh of Linguistic Department and the presidents/secretaries of AMSU, MSF and DESAM are in the managing committee of the Centre.
Leaders of the three student bodies, who were also present during the press conference, expressed hope that the newly set up Centre for Foreign studies would be helpful to many students.
