Imphal, July 03: Personnel of Imphal West Narcotics Cell seized 250 grams of heroin from the possession of a young housewife today at about 4.30 pm near the M/S Konsam Oil depot at Canchipur.

The woman was travelling in an Imphal bound Tata Sumo from Moreh at the time of her arrest.

The woman has been identified as Hinjaneng Vaiphei (26) of Moreh Ward number 8.She was along with her child.

The heroin seized from her possession is worth about Rs 2.5 lakhs.

The same team also seized another 15 grams of heroin from the possession of a young girl near the oil depot from another Imphal bound Tata Sumo at about 5 pm.

The young girl is identified as N Joujam (18) of Kangpokpi Ward number two.
