Imphal, October 02: The Vaphei People Council (VPC) Eastern Block, Manipur has strongly condemned the killing of Pu SL Soneimang Vaiphei of New Chekon by unidentified gunmen on the night of Sept 28.A press release issued by Th Manga Vaphei, secretary Information & Publicity, Vaphei People Council E/B, Manipur, demanded explanation on the killing and expressed sorrow at the death.

Firing attack: Unidentified armed persons reportedly fired several round at the Kwakeithel Akham Leikai residence of Khomdram Borkeshor, who is the president of Board of Directors of Imphal Urban Co-operative Bank, last night at around 9 pm.

No one was injured in the firing.

ZU refutes charges: The Zeliangrong Union, in a press statement has refuted the allegations raised against it by Th Apilo, chairman, Irang Naga village Authority and others in connection with the election of the union's Senapati zone chairman held on September 29.
