Imphal, October 02: Unidentified gunmen shot dead two youths, including an ex-cadre of the proscribed PLA at Langthabal Phuramakhong, 5 kms south-west of Singjamei Police Station.

The local people found the bodies lying in front of the Primary School at Langthabal Phura Makhong early morning today.

The hands of the slain youths were tied from behind.

The slain youths have been identified as Sinam Sanatomba alias Sharma (23) s/o Mangol of Kakwa Naorem Leikai and Ningthoujam Abung (24) s/o late Tomchou of Chajing Mamang Leikai.

According to information given by the bereaved families, Sanatomba was an ex-cadre of PLA and had been jailed four times.

He was released from the jail just a week back.

He stayed only for one day at home and did not come back after having gone out the next day.

None of the family members have done anything to bail him out from the jail as well.

On the other hand, Abung was the only son of his parents.

After the death of his father, he and his widowed mother were the only members in the family.

Yesterday at around 2.30 pm, Abung had gone out from home on his CBZ motor cycle along with some persons who seemed to be not well acquainted with him.

The CBZ was also found lying next to the body of Abung.

Police retrieved both the bodies and later handed them over to the respective bereaved families after post-mortem at RIMS today.

Youth knocked down: A Hero-Honda borne youth died when a Tata truck knocked him down at Yumnam Leikai under Imphal Police Station at around 4.10 pm today.

The deceased has been identified as Bachaspatimayum Ronald Sharma (26) of Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai Leirak Machin.
