Imphal, October 29:
The Army under its operation Tornado has evicted UNLF cadres from their hideouts in Bekra region launched on October 25.The civil administration absent from the area for the last eight years is being requested to resume control over the area, said PIB (DW) press release.
The Army suffered one casualty due to an IED planted by UNLF in the area.
The statement claimed that the entire area has now been cleared adding that fleeing cadres have carried away their casualties, but huge amounts of weapons, explosives, radio sets and almost 55 pairs of combat dresses were abandoned when they fled.
