The general assembly meeting of the Chandel Naga Peoples� Organisation (CNPO) held yesterday at Penaching Community hall has resolved to dissolve the present tenureship (2002-05) of the organisation with immediate effect until holding of the new election.
The meeting strongly condemned the decision of all political parties to maintain status quo of Assembly seats.
It also resolved to send its team to Dimapur, Tengnoupal and Sugnu under the theme �Journey of peace & understanding�.
Meanwhile Naga Students� Union, Chandel (NSUC) has claimed that it has confirmed, through reliable sources including eye-witnesses, that the unfortunate incident of October 18 in which two innocent civilians were beaten up at Pallel, was pre-planned to flare up communal tension.
In a statement issued by the Union, it expressed full support to the charter of demands submitted by the Joint Action Committee, Chandel to the Chief Minister.
It also sought clarification as to why rice (under SGRY) meant for Chandel has not reached the district godown till date.
It further warned that GI sheets (under AY) will be rejected if the quality does not commensurate with the fixed rate of Rs 3145 per bundle.
ANTA appeals: Anal Naga Taangpi (ANTA) has appealed to all UG groups not to harass or torture innocent civilians as it may cause communal tension.
