Imphal, October 29: The one day seminar organised by Apunba Kanglei Sinnaibi Lup at Kangla Hall on October 27 adopted a number of resolution with special emphasis on celebrating Ningol Chakkouba with traditional fervour and curtailing related expenses.

Attended by social activists, members of the intellectual circle and academicians the seminar rued the fact that Ningol Chakkouba had undergone a multidimensional change from the traditional manner of brothers inviting sisters for meal and parting with simple gifts towards race on showering expensive material presents.

Observing that such trend would only lead for division between the rich and poor besides straining the State's economy, a resolution copy issued to the press urged the people to rely upon locally available food products and gifts.

Curtailing the celebration costs besides reflecting a society based on equality and true meaning of the celebration would accelerate growth of local economy, it said.

The seminar also highlighted need for employing scientific and technological equipment for increasing local agricultural goods so that the State could put up a semblance of being part of the global race towards development and advancement.
