Imphal, April 07: The State Government, on its part is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts for smooth conduct of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election and have taken up training programme and rehearsal of the poll personnel on full swing.

All the officials, who have been appointed as pre-siding officers and polling officers in the General Elections, 2004 to Lok Sabha by DEO/DC Imphal East and whose services are being utilized in the examinations centres of the ongoing HSLC examinations, 2004 have been asked to attend the training/rehearsal on the use of EVMs and poll-related duties on April 15 and 16 without fail.

In a notification DC of Imphal East KK Chhetry, who is also the District Election Officer further informed all the presiding officers and polling officers who have already attended the training on April 6 and today as well as those would be attending the training programme tomorrow may also attend the training to be con- ducted on April 15 and 16 as an optional/revision exercise.

In another notification, the DC has informed to all contesting candidates/election agents of contesting candidates/representative of all political parties that fresh poll/adjourned poll, if any during the General Election, 2004 to the Lok Sabha in respect of the 10 Assembly Constituency segments of Imphal East District falling within No I Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency would go to poll on April 20, shall be held on April 28 as per instruction of the Election Commission of India.
