Imphal, April 07:
Letting known its intention clear, the NSCN (K) has warned all concerned not to go ahead with the April 13 meeting at Tamenglong hqs and asked all Zeliangrong leaders not to attend the said meeting.
In a statement issued to the press today, the guard commander of the Zeliangrong region of the NSCN (K) said that its cadres were constrained to take action against the office bearers of the Zeliangrong region on March 31 as the ZU leaders have been siding with the NSCN (IM) at the cost of the NSCN (K).
Outlining its reason, the outfit said that the apex body of Khumji ZU under the chairmanship of Mr Patrick, the then acting president of ZU, had resolved not to support any group which carry out factional killings.
However, contrary to the resolutions taken at the apex meeting, the ZU did not take any action when the NSCN (IM) killed an NNC cadre Athuan at Kaiphundai.
On the other hand the ZU extended their support to the NSCN (IM), claimed the statement.
NSCN (K) has also taken serious view of the ban imposed by the ZU on collecting house taxes by the outfit in Imphal without giving any notice.
This was to malign the image of the NSCN (K) and accordingly it was decided to take some action against the ZU leaders, said the statement.
Instead to trying to find out the real reasons and unearth the truth, the ZU leaders have been trying to mislead the Zeliangrong people through false propaganda, said the statement.
The NSCN (K) has also warned all Zeliangrong organizations not to give out any statement to the press regarding the March 31 incident.
