Imphal, April 07:
Setting April 10 as the deadline for all the Ministers, MPs and MLAs to publicly denounce the excesses, atrocities and blatant abuse of human rights committed by the Indian security force, the proscribed PREPAK has today warned that if the political leaders fail to do so then they will certainly receive bombs and mortars as gifts from the outfit at their residences and official bungalows.
In a hard hitting statement issued to the press today, the outfit said that the political leaders should face the consequences if they fail to publicly condemn the excesses committed by the Assam Rifles troops during the Holi festival by April 10.The outfit said that the attack launched on the Assam Rifles post at Kangla in the intervening nights of April 5 and 6 was to demonstrate that it has the capability to attack the Assam Rifles anywhere as well as to denounce the killings of a number of individuals during this year's Holi festival in fake encounters.
The attack was also part of the military action taken up by PREPAK to avenge the custodial killing of captain Ngaanba who was the assistant secretary, organization.
If the Assam Rifles does not publicly apologize for its excesses and atrocities, then PREPAK would soon start targeting its commissioned officer under a new military strategy, warned the outfit.
Coming out strongly against the political leaders of the State, the outfit said that instead of condemning the excesses of the security personnel, all the Ministers, MLAs and MPs have remained mute spectators.
This has only encouraged the sepoys of the Assam Rifles to indulge in rampant human rights violation, it claimed.
PREPAK further said that the time has come for the people to launch a concerted effort to remove the Assam Rifles from Kangla.
Two held: A combined team of Thoubal Police commandos and 3rd IRB apprehended two UG suspects from Heirok Part II Thokchom Bazar and Heirok Part I Heitupokpi yesterday afternoon at around 12.30, said sources.
