Imphal, January 17: A devastating fire broke out today at about 8 pm at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai just to the east of the office of The Sangai Express and razed two houses to the ground while another house was extensively damaged.

The source of the fire is yet to be worked out but almost all the valuables and goods kept inside the two houses have been destroyed in the fire which raged on for more than 30 minutes.

As news of the fire spread, local people came out in hordes to do whatever they could to stop the fire from spreading further.

Fire Brigade personnel arrived on receiving the news in good time and managed to control the raging fire.

No one was hurt in the devastating fire.

The loss incurred in the inferno is yet to be worked out but it could be substantial.
